The Harvest Field Baptist Church was formed in the fall of 2002 and for seven and one-half years had met in the historic German Reformed Church in Fayette, NY, built originally in 1830. Harvest Field's founding pastor, Floyd C. Marsh was called to the ministry after working in the advertising industry for several Fortune 500 companies. He remarked, “As exciting as my work may have sounded, I still had a great big void [that] I knew could only be filled by full time ministry. I believed that the Lord was calling us to start fresh right here in our own back yard by planting a Church. That vision gave birth to the Harvest Field Baptist Church of Fayette, NY.” The first church service in the historic stone church in Fayette, NY was on September 15, 2002. And then on April 26, 2009 ground breaking took place on the corner of Rt 414 and Leader Road for the new church’s construction and the corner stone was set on September 13, 2009. Asked about the future of the Harvest Field Baptist Church, Pastor Marsh replied, “My vision for the Harvest Field Baptist Church is to reach men, women, and children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ -- not only in Fayette, NY but around the globe as well.”
